Machine-measured grading for sports cards and TCGs. Flat pricing, real turnarounds, and every grade backed by the scan that earned it.
Fresh from the grading room

Why BFG
Every grading company asks for your trust. We hand you the evidence instead.
Every cert number links to the actual high-resolution imaging of your card, front and back, captured the day it was graded. Buyers do not have to take our word for the grade. They can see the card that earned it.
The same price grades a $5 common or a $5,000 rookie. No declared-value interviews, no penalty for owning something great, no surprise upgrade fees when your card comes back better than expected.
The industry backlog is the reason this company exists. Our turnaround times are published on this page, measured door to door, and kept. When they change, the site changes first.
Every grade is issued against our published standards. If a BFG slab is ever found outside those standards, we regrade it free and make it right. A grade that cannot stand behind itself is not a grade.
Our Process
Every card runs through the same gauntlet: imaged at high resolution, measured by computer vision, and graded by a human expert who signs the result.
High-resolution capture of the full card, front and back, before a grader ever touches it. The scan becomes part of your card's permanent record.
Computer vision flags every corner touch, edge chip, surface line and centering shift.
The final grade is a human call, made with the machine's evidence on the table. Both agree before anything gets slabbed.
Grading Standards
Every card is scored on the same four attributes, against written standards, with the scan as evidence for each call.
Border ratios are computed from the scan, front and back, to a fraction of a millimeter. A Gem Mint front must sit 55/45 or better. The software does the measuring so no grader ever has to guess.
Each corner is examined under magnification for fray, whitening, soft tips and crush, then cross-checked against the zoomed scan. A corner that photographs clean but feels soft still gets caught.
Chipping, silvering, rough factory cuts and dings are traced along all four edges under raking light, the low-angle pass that exposes damage a straight-on look will never show.
Print lines, scratches, dimples, stains, wax residue and holo scuffing are swept for at multiple light angles. Surface is where most 10s die, so it is where we spend the most time.
Authentication
A grade on a counterfeit is worse than worthless, so nothing gets a number until it clears authentication. Every submission is screened against era-correct card stock, factory cut signatures and known print patterns before a grader ever scores it.
Trimming, recoloring, rebuilt corners and pressed creases are exactly the alterations our imaging is built to expose. If a card fails the screen, it is returned unslabbed and marked not authenticated, and the submitter is told exactly why.

Half-point precision, graded against published standards for centering, corners, edges and surface.
Pricing
No declared-value games and no surprise fees. Pick a speed, that's the whole decision.
No bulk minimums. No declared value. One card or one hundred, a $5 common or a $5,000 rookie: the price is the price.
Add-ons are selected during submission. No separate service, no surprise fees.
Verification
Enter any BFG cert number and see exactly what we graded and what it earned. Buyers trust what they can verify.
Every BFG slab also carries a QR code on its back label. Scan it with any phone camera and this page opens straight to that card's cert, grade and scans. Typing the number does the same thing.
BFG App
Snap your card, build your submission and track every grade from your pocket. Photo recognition identifies the card so you never type a set name.

1. Authentication comes first. Every card is screened before grading. A card we determine to be altered, trimmed, recolored or counterfeit is returned ungraded and unslabbed. The fee covers that examination and is not refunded.
2. Grades are expert opinions. A BFG grade is our professional judgment against our published standards, and it is final. If a BFG slab is ever shown to sit outside those standards, we regrade it free.
3. Turnarounds are estimates. We publish real numbers and work to beat them, but they are targets, not guarantees.
4. Care and liability. Your cards are handled with gloves, sleeves and locked storage from arrival scan to delivery scan. Our total liability for any card is limited to its fair market value or $1,000, whichever is less. Cards valued over $1,000 must be arranged with us in writing BEFORE you ship. If you ship a higher-value card without that written agreement, you accept the $1,000 limit.
5. Shipping. Inbound shipping is entirely at your risk: we are not liable for cards lost or damaged on their way to us, so insure your package. Return shipping is tracked and insured by us, subject to the same limits above.
6. Payment. Grading begins after payment. Submissions left unpaid or uncollected for 90 days after our notice may be returned at your cost or treated as abandoned.
7. Ownership. By submitting you confirm the cards are yours to submit.
